What is the Local Jobs Hub and how does it work?
Local Jobs Hub is an online platform that connects job seekers and employers by bringing together job postings, labour market information, and career resources in one place.
The Hub’s Job Board automatically pulls postings from major job boards used across the region, helping job seekers discover local and remote opportunities while giving employers broader visibility. Beyond job listings, the Local Jobs Hub offers access to career and occupation data, regional labour market insights, career exploration tools such as career calculators, and a resource library for both job seekers and employers. These tools and reports help users better understand career pathways, hiring needs, and workforce trends to support informed career and business decisions.

Is there a cost to use the Local Jobs Hub?
No. Local Jobs Hub is a free tool provided by the Elgin Middlesex Oxford Workforce Planning and Development Board. All features are available at no cost, including account creation, job searching and posting, access to career and training tools, browsing curated job, industry, and occupation data, and viewing community labour market data, maps, and reports.
Which region does the Local Jobs Hub cover?
The Local Jobs Hub features job postings across London, St. Thomas, Elgin County, Middlesex County, and Oxford County. It also includes remote job opportunities that are relevant to individuals and employers in the region.Looking beyond this area? How often are job postings updated?
Job postings on the Local Jobs Hub are updated twice a day. When a job is added, updated, or removed on the source job board, those changes are reflected on the Local Jobs Hub.
Updates may take some time to appear, so recently posted or edited jobs may not show changes immediately.

How do I post my job with Local Jobs Hub?
Employers do not post jobs directly to the Local Jobs Hub. Our site automatically collects job postings from 50+ job posting websites in our region and extends their reach to 3000+ users across London, Elgin, Middlesex, and Oxford counties.
Posting multiple jobs will result in multiple listings, and any updates you make to a job posting, such as edits or removal, will automatically be reflected on the Local Jobs Hub.

Note: Some employers may have dedicated employer pages on Local Jobs Hub. These pages are optional and not required to post jobs, and availability may vary.
Do I have to pay to get my posting displayed?
While Local Jobs Hub does not charge to display job postings, some of the job boards it collects postings from may charge a fee to post with them. Pricing and posting requirements vary by site, so it’s best to check directly with the platform you choose.
Will my job be promoted or prioritized?
No. Job postings on the Local Jobs Hub are shown in order of most recent postings by default. The newest jobs appear at the top, and listings are not paid, promoted, or prioritized.
How long will my job stay listed?
Job postings remain visible for as long as they are active on the original job board.
I am hiring for a job in the Elgin, Middlesex, or Oxford counties, why isn’t my job showing up on the Local Jobs Hub?
There are a few reasons your job may not be registered with our site:
- It is not posted on one of the sites aggregated by the Local Jobs Hub
- See the list of compatible sites at the top of the FAQ section.
- You may have forgotten to input your address
- Search for your job using the search function on our Job Board. If your job shows up here, but not on the Map, return to your original posting and input the location of your company or job. Check back in 24 hours to locate your job on the map.
- Your address may be incompatible
- If you don’t see your job on the Job Board or the Map, return to your original posting and check the address. If your posting address is associated with a head office or other location outside of the region, try changing your address on the original posting to the location of the job itself. Check back in 24 hours to locate your job on our board or map.
Trying the above 3 fixes resolves 90% of cases. If you’ve attempted these fixes and still don’t see your job, please Contact Us.
I am hiring for a job outside of the Elgin Middlesex and Oxford Region, why isn’t my job posting on the Local Jobs Hub?
The Local Jobs Hub focuses on job postings within the Elgin, Middlesex, and Oxford region. If you’re hiring for a position outside of this area, your posting will not appear on the Local Jobs Hub.
To find resources and job boards specific to your region, you can visit employmentontario.ca or explore regional job hubs across Ontario through Workforce Planning Ontario’s Regional Job Board & LMI Platforms. Your job posting is likely featured on the jobs hub serving the region where the position is located.

How do I apply for a job?
Local Jobs Hub brings together job postings from across the web in one place. To apply, click the job title or the “Go to Job Posting” button, which will take you to the original employer’s website with full details and application instructions.
Local Jobs Hub does not hire on behalf of employers. If you have questions about a specific job or company, please get in touch with the employer directly through the original posting.
While searching for jobs, you can also use the Hub’s career and labor market tools to explore related occupations, learn about in-demand roles, and support your broader career planning.
Do I need to create an account to use the Local Jobs Hub?
While you can browse jobs without an account, creating one unlocks additional tools that help you manage your job search more effectively.
With an account, you can save jobs and searches, set up job alerts, and receive personalized recommendations based on your interests.

How do I simplify my search?
Local Jobs Hub offers several tools to help you narrow your search and focus on opportunities that fit you best.
On the Job Board and Job Map, filters let you refine results by things like location, experience level, occupation, and industry so you’re only seeing relevant jobs. You can also simplify your search over time by saving jobs, following employers or sectors, and setting up job alerts, so new opportunities come to you instead of having to search repeatedly.

Are there jobs for entry-level or no-experience applicants?
Yes. Local Jobs Hub includes opportunities for all experience levels, including entry-level roles.
To narrow your results, use the “Any Experience” filter on the left side of the Job Board, or select your experience level from the “Show all job experience” dropdown when viewing jobs on the Job Map.
If you’re still exploring your options, the Occupation Library can help you learn about different careers, typical entry points, required skills, and career pathways. This is especially helpful if you’re new to the workforce or considering a career change and want to understand how different roles connect and grow over time.
What should I do if I’m not sure what kind of job I’m looking for?
If you’re unsure where to start, Local Jobs Hub offers several tools to help you explore career options and make informed decisions.

You can use the “Career Library” to learn about different occupations, including job descriptions, regional demand, and salary expectations.
The “Career Calculator” helps you compare careers using local labor market information such as wages, education requirements, costs, and hiring demand.
The “Career Explorer” allows you to discover career paths and job opportunities related to your current skills and experience.
These tools are designed to help you explore your options and identify career paths that fit your interests and goals.
Why can’t I filter for my particular job/area/career?
Filters are pre-determined by our system, but you can always use the search function located at the top of the left toolbar to get more specific with your job search.

How do I request Data?
You can request data by contacting the Workforce Planning and Development Board directly. Please provide details about your data needs, including the type of data, geography, and time period.
What data sources are used?
The dashboards and reports use a combination of data from sources such as Statistics Canada, Employment Ontario, and other administrative and survey-based datasets.
Where do I find Job Demand Data for a longer time period?
For longer-term job demand data, please refer to the Job Demand Report or contact the team for access to extended datasets or historical reports.
How often is the data updated?
Data is updated regularly, depending on the source. Some datasets are updated monthly, while others are updated annually or as new data becomes available.
Can I download or export the data?
Yes, many dashboards include options to download or export data.
At the bottom of each page, there are options to navigate to other pages, share, download, or expand the view. The downward arrow icon allows you to download a specific page. After clicking the icon, you will be prompted to select your preferred format.
Can I request custom analysis or reports?
Yes, custom data requests or reports may be available. Please contact the team with your specific requirements to learn more.
