  • Metal Fabricator (Fitter)

    Industrial Voluntary Certification Certificate of Qualification Exam Red Seal

    Education Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent.

    Training Hours: Complete 4,680 hours of on-the-job training, one 10-week, and two 7-week in-class technical training sessions for this apprenticeship.

    Metal fabricators or fitters cut, shape, and assemble steel. Their products can be used in buildings, bridges, tanks, boilers, and pressure vessels. Metal fabricators make patterns and templates to ensure their work is precise. Some work in manufacturing plants, while others work outside on construction sites.
