To turn on subtitles and change them to French for YouTube videos, start by clicking on the gear icon (Settings) at the bottom right corner of the video player. From the menu that appears, select “Subtitles/CC.” If the current status shows “Off” and “English (auto-generated),” click on “English (auto-generated)” to open the subtitles menu. Once the menu is open, go back and click on “English (auto-generated)” again to access the full menu options. In the subtitles menu, choose “Auto-translate” from the options provided. Finally, select “French” from the list of available languages. Once done, the video will display subtitles in French.
