Motorcycle Technician
Motive Power Mandatory Certification Certificate of Qualification Exam Red Seal
Education Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent.
Training Hours: Complete 5,520 hours of on-the-job training and two 8-week in-class technical training sessions for this apprenticeship.
Motorcycle technicians diagnose, repair, overhaul, and replace the mechanical and electrical parts of motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Their work involves adjusting, repairing, or replacing these parts using hand tools and soldering and brazing equipment. They also test and adjust repaired systems for proper performance. Increasingly, they work with electronic components and diagnostic equipment.

Motive Power Voluntary Certification Certificate of Qualification Exam
Education Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent.
Training Hours: Complete 6,280 hours of on-the-job training and three 8-week in-class technical training sessions for this apprenticeship.
Powered lift truck technicians maintain powered lift trucks, stackers, carriers, and other power equipment. This work includes diagnosing, repairing, modifying, assembling, and disassembling vehicle parts. They work on safety, drive, braking, steering, elevating, fuel, and traction systems.
